| burial details unknown Wendle who is listed as Ventell, Wendell, Wendle, Vandale, and Vendel in various records with the surname Weaver or Weber, was born about 1759 in Heidelberg Township, Lancaster County, PA. He was the son of John Weaver (Also listed as 'Weber') and wife Elizabeth. John Weaver/Weber died intestate in 1772. Records from Orphan's Court in Nov 1772 list John Weber as having left 6 children: Wendle, Elizabeth, Anna Barbara, Margaret, Magdalena, and John Philip. Wendle went on to serve as the Captain of the Lancaster County Militia in 1780-1782. He married twice. First to Elizabeth Kobel with whom he had 9 children, second to Anna Katherine (Katrone) Daub with whom he fathered 4 more children. His will which is found in Cumberland County Probate Records, states that he died in March of 1802 while living in Mifflin Township. In it, he names 11 of his children. |
